Let me talk about that I had so much fun at the ‘Manga-Talk party’!
We introduced and had a good discussion about manga at a Manga-bar, Nyi-ma.
The theme this time was ‘Good-Bye’. Each of the participants had a brief presentation on how great the manga was and the most impressive points.
All of them were very impressive and made me want to read them. I was so moved!

However, the manga that I introduced was not about ‘farewell’, but kind of like ‘never say good bye to you!’ (who is ‘you’? is the most important point of this story). I am a bit of a contrary person…
The title is “Boku dakega inai machi”, which means “The Town Where Only I am Missing” and wikipedia says it’s English title is “Erased”. You may know it because it is famous manga, and also you may have watched the movie and anime broadcasted on Hulu. Anyway, the story grabbed me, caused suffering in my heart and never let me go until the end…
The main character is Satoru Fujinuma. He made his debut as a manga-artist, but had not seen a sign of success for a long time, and earned his living by delivering pizza.
He is 28 years old, not sociable and sufferring from the phenomenon of ‘Revival’ (going back to the recent or old past of his life). And suddenly the bad luck of being suspected of murdering his mother, sent his life back to his elementary school. He became an elementary kid. Then, there his friends were killed by a serial killer. He investigated the murderer with the spirit of a 28 year old man. Until he solved the puzzle and determined the correct facts, it repeats again and again and the ending is always different.
Finally he found who was the serial killer and when he almost tracked down the suspect, he was killed. What will the future be after he disappeared— what was going on with his grown-up friends and mother without him?

I believe in parallel worlds where things go many different ways by different thinking or attitudes. And our feelings, thoughts, attitudes affect the affairs surrounding us.
I have no tools to prove whether it is true or not. Just thinking things going in parallel ways makes me less stressed to swim through the world until the end of my life. And it is just fun to believe in many different ways.
How about you?
