Last year, Kazuo Ishiguro won the Nobel Prize for literature! That is very happy news even for me who read only one book of his. Because the book I read, Never Let me Go’ moved, depressed, and never let me go from thought… The feature in the story about Organ Transplantation becoming a common treatment is nothing but hell. I wonder If the disease that needs Organ Transplantation will become common in our future, or why people do not try to improve their environment or lifestyle? Will they become aware of the effects on our bodies like unhealthy food, nuclear power or disposal of industrial effluent?
It is Ok for my body to be used for someone’s health if my brain is dead, but if I have a serious disease that needs an organ transfer, I want to accept my destiny and will live out my days with everything I’ve got instead of surviving by using somebody’s organ. This is from the idea that I am Japanese believing in reincarnation unconsciously just as the characters in the book accept their lives by living as donors even if they resisted as much as they could. But if my precious one needs an organ transfer and that is the only way to live, I surely will ask him to do it! Oh, my thoughts tangle… Anyway, that is the imaginary world where organ farms exist, however, it is really happening now all over the world. We eat animal meat like beef, chicken, etc… I’m not so vegetarian, but every time we eat meat, my heart hurts. I’ve been trying to live with the least animal protein and lots of vegie things, but it is just an excuse. I know this…. Sorry, my though is getting confused. (><;)>
